Third Round of the 2023 Junior Saloon Car Championship at Anglesey

Ideally, I would have posted this race review about a week ago, but it was quite emotional and I wanted to make sure that I got my facts straight. You'll see why... Before we get into any of the racing, I have to say that this is probably the most beautiful race track I have ever raced. It was my first time there and I know that everybody says that it is stunning. You know what? They are right and the weather was equally brilliant! Back to JSCC and the racing. For testing on Friday we had 6 20 minute sessions. That's 2 hours of track time. Amazing! On top of that we also had a 15 minute paid practice session on Saturday. I was READY for the quali. Based on last year's times I was aiming for 1:25.xxx and I managed to get that. However, this year was fast. Despite achieving my target, I only qualified 21st, 19th and 21st for the three races. It was actually the largest grid JSCC has ever had with 31 entries. Could have been better, but could also have been worse (like last ti

British Indoor Karting Championship Regional Final

The actual regional final was on Sunday, but I thought that it would be a great idea to re-learn the track (it has been two years), so I went for an evening of three 15 minute sessions on the Saturday. It wasn't all racers, but great to get used to the track again. So before getting into the regional final, let me share the on-board footage from Staturday. I only have the video from the first and third sessions as there was a bit of a misunderstanding between my dad and me on who would turn on the camera for the second one... We were split into two groups and he format was to do a Quali, two Heats and a Semi Final. Supporting Damon Hill's The Halow Project and Winning the Race

I never knew that supporting a charity could be so much fun! But before we get to the fun, let me talk about the Halow Project. Well, Damon is their patron and watching him during the day, you could just see how close this cause is to his heart. Not only has he been signing autographs, holding speeches, bidding at the auction and all the good things you expect a good patron to do, but he was just walking around hugging the Halow guys and making sure that they had a brilliant time! So, what is the Halow Project??? It all began with Harriet, Amber, Laura, Oliver and William. These young people each have a learning disability and together they were the inspiration for the charity, in fact their initials spell the name HALOW. Seeing the young people during the day brought the point home how much they they enjoy life. All it takes is a combination of encouragement and opportunities. However all this costs money, so this charity is at the core of enriching their lives with opportunities. So
