It was very much a weekend of two halves. In terms of weather we had beautiful sunshine as well as torrential downpours. In terms of racing I was really picking up the pace, but then disaster struck. But more on that later...
It was the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend, so both, Thursday and Friday, were bank holidays, so before testing on Friday we went to the Silverstone Interactive Museum on Thursday. Not only was that fun, I actually broke the track record for the Radical simulator.
Here is a short Instagram Reel of the visit:
The two test sessions on Friday went really well and it was great to catch up with the team and my friends.
Here is a short Instagram Reel of the day:
Here the video of the first test session:
My car is actually rented and as you can see in the Instagram Reel from Snetterton, It had a passenger seat. Well, that actually belonged to another team and they needed it back. Which is of course absolutely fine. However we only noticed that just before the quali, so I had to just jump in and get the quali done. However at Scrutineering after the quali, it was found that the car was 12kg too light as a result and I got a 10 second starting penalty for both races on Sunday!
So here is the first race:
Keeping it going in the rain (I just love rain) meant that I was able to make up 5 places despite the 10 second penalty.
And the second race:
It didn't go as well as the first race, but I till made 3 places good finishing 27th.
Overall it was not the best result ever, but given the circumstances it could have been worse.
Unfortunately I will not be able to do the next round at Knockhill due to lack of sponsorship. Feel free to contact me if you would like to help. Obviously there would be various benefits for a sponsor. We can even get the car (and myself of course) to be at corporate events or similar. You can simply send a mail to speedygonzalex@mosthav.com if you would like to discuss what we could do together.
